![]() ![]() Use rope firebombs to punish there aggression. I would highly recommend staying under 30% equip load because the spacing it give is extremely valuable when using a ranged weapon. If someone rolls into you stand your ground, you can shoot them before they can attack if your quick. You can head shot stagger people out of everything even during i frames and out of poisey weapon arts. You can dodge while drawn but there is a short period of time you are unable to roll after shooting so be aware of that. I personally keep a rapier in my left hand to punish them for being too aggressive with a stab or just parry them but you use what works for you. Bows are also really good at countering mages, though it's hard to fight people who spam Lightning Arrow, because it has a faster projectile speed.Īs someone who uses bows a lot in this game and with the game getting a bit old i will share some of my secrets, and the gimmicks that make it good and that have worked for me PVP Duels: you will need to get comfortable with free aiming because you will need to lead your shots when they start bobbing and weaving to close the distance. The most damage I ever dealt to one guy in a single shot was 410 damage, though that was likely a counter thrust and because he was lightly armored. But when I do, and if I'm lucky, I get +200 damage from counter thrust with the Leo Ring, a headshot that staggers them, or both. Though if I notice they're using heavy weapons like Great Axes or UGS, or a Great Sword with heavy armor, I roll instead, since they might poise through it. In most cases, I just hold until their exit their roll and catch/interrupt them during their startup frames. But for people who don't know how to deal with the bow, they seem to panic roll a lot and eventually roll into me for a roll attack. I usually switch to my main if they get too aggressive & up-close. I prefer melee weapons, so I just use them to open fights and soften the other guy a bit, get around 2-3 arrows in for about 150-290-ish damage depending on their armor. If only their WA wasn't so weak in damage. But mostly the Short Bow & Composite Bow. I gotta, I've a new-found appreciation for them. Haven't really been around this page in particular, but I usually use a crossbow on my off-hand, so I recently decided to give them a shot at the arena. The Ringed City - Found on the swamp's cliffside past the Inner Wall area. One of them drops itīought from the Shrine Handmaid for 3,500 souls after giving her the Dreamchaser's Ashes. There are 3 around a soul to the left of the second bonfire in this area. Having always been a bow user, I'm not particularly adept at their close compatriots besides the occasional temporary use of one, so I know little about them besides the one you get in the Archives fires three shots, Knight's crossbow does lightning damage, Gale's does miserable damage for the ammo expendature, and explosive bolts are pretty powerful.Durability / Weight - Attack Type - Skill - Rangeīuy: Merchant Greirat's expanded inventoryįarron Keep. In order to make up for this shortfall and allow myself to harass them into making a move, I have decided that I want to pick up a crossbow or two for the offhand. So the big way I end up having to engage roll-heavy, quicker-weapon users is often the poise game where I just have to wait for them to initiate and time my own attacks out to punish them for it and, as far as fighting harassers go, I just have to pray they blunder in some key way and I can get hits on them. However while they do great damage and are overall very satisfying to use, I have noticed the primary issue with them: they're slow as fuck and have only moderate reach. Hello! So, one of the primary characters I use I use nothing but the myriad of greataxes available in Dark Souls 3. ![]()
